On solo it's fun because it's more challenging. The support character builds like maya isn't worth going down that skill set of your gonna only go solo. But its actually pretty well balanced for most set ups. Just don't sham fleet. Maya is great fun but not for elemental damage, for crowd control, and AOE damge. Gaige is better for elemental damage than maya, as well is krieg.Flicker can help your slag chance and Immolate is one of the best FFYL skills in the game (so good that one of Maya's raid boss speed killing builds maxes Immolate and intentionally downs yourself to do more damage). Not putting points in Reaper is almost criminal. This is what I'd consider the bare minimum for a Maya build.
